Comic Description & Plot Outline

After Jinji the Gengar introduced Meuka to Mallow (by using a tablet device to host a video call with him) during Mallow’s 2024 Birthday Party, Meuka has been fascinated by this strange, “sentient garbage-heap” creature everyone nicknames “The Stinkiest Garbodor”. Being Neopia’s grossest and most terrifying villain, Meuka decides he has to find out if Mallow really is everything people claim he is… so one day, he finds a way to sneak out of Neopia itself and make his way to the Pokémon World, where he eventually comes across Mallow’s house. Mallow is chilling out by himself, casually watching TV in his living room, completely unaware that the mucus Meerca is about to step right through his door and challenge him to a battle. But Meuka is soon to discover Mallow is more powerful than he thought…

While not technically a birthday comic in itself, “A GROSS Underestimation!” forms a kind of pseudo-sequel to the earlier 2024 work, “Mallow’s House Party“, and was published for his 2026 Birthday, forgoing his usual Birthday antics.

Trivia and References

  • Meuka’s reference to “instilling fear into the noses of Neopia” is not just a reference to Mallow’s stench, but also to Meuka’s habit of “slipping out of Neopets’ noses” when they become ill in order to challenge them to a battle.
  • Meuka’s production of mucus and his threat to flood Mallow’s house reference his appearance in Defenders of Neopia, where he is depicted unleashing a flood of mucus to terrorise a small village.

The name, appearance and character of Meuka are copyright and intellectual property of World of Neopets, Inc. and part of the Neopets Online Virtual Pet Game, also owned by World of Neopets, Inc. Neither Mallow nor Kumada Panda claims any ownership over Meuka or any other related characters, trademarks or indicia. This is a non-canonical fan work that is not intended to be taken as a genuine storyline in either Neopets or Mallow the Garbodor’s lore. We consider this story to constitute a fair-use parody under 17 U.S.C. § 107 and the UK Copyright and Rights in Performances (Quotation and Parody) Regulations 2014, along with local equivalents in other countries and jurisdictions.
